Just a reminder that the new lime green “Float” labels are a Supply Room item. If you’ve run out since the initial distribution, please order another stack!
We have noticed a few locations making their own photocopies of the label, which really isn’t necessary and costs us more than the ones made by the Print Shop. We’ve also seen photocopies of the old red “Overflow” label being created, and we had requested that everyone stop using that one altogether.
On a related topic: If your location happens to receive floated items that, for whatever reason, you cannot bear to accept, never simply return them to the sender. If you cannot find a spot on your shelves for them, offer them to others (via the blog, email list, or trade) or contact our office to discuss their disposition. Then call the sender to discuss what other categories of materials you could accept from them instead in the future. And senders, please remember to contact potential recipient locations in advance if you intend to float to them more than 5 items at a time.
