Discard Instructions

Hello Team,

I have placed a new link on the blog that gives discard instructions from the Friends of HPL. It is under "Collection Development" and it is called "Discard Instructions". Please take a moment to get familiar with it especially if you are scheduled to Discard.

Discard/Friends Boxes

The FIDS department has reported that staff in Neighborhood Libraries is packing the boxes for Friends and Discard with too much heavy items. Belinda has asked that NL Staff reduce the amount of heavy books per box. FIDS complained that they have had to lift boxes that were too full and very heavy.

The Team Leaders are requesting that Managers train staff (especially the new ones) on the right weight for boxes. Basically the boxes should not be more than half full.
